This is a list of native plants suitable for use as a privacy screen or hedge in full sun conditions. All plants need weekly water the first year or two as their roots are establishing and extending deeper in the soil. Water thoroughly weekly to fully saturate soil to promote deep roots in the first year. All plants should be kept 5 ft or more from structures. A continuous hedge should ideally be planted 30 ft or more from a structure. But if adequate space is given between shrubs, they can be planted occasionally as close as 5 ft within structure.
