[explorer.natureserve.org] Range, Low Threats: Eriogonum microthecum var. alpinum is a California endemic found in the central Sierra Nevada Highlands (Alpine County) (2500-3300 meters) and northern part of the adjacent floristic subregion, east of the Sierra Nevada; it is considered uncommon (Hickman 1993).
