The Bush Monkey Flower prefers coastal sage scrub, oak woodlands, and chaparral plant communities. It is pollinated by bees and hummingbirds, growing and thriving in many types of soil, from wet and sandy to dry and rocky. (link added by Mary Ann Machi)
