[explorer.natureserve.org] Conservation status: Endemic to Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and San Bernardino counties, California. Currently known from only about 11 or fewer extant populations. There is one population with about 600 plants, but the rest have been reported as containing only 1-25 plants. Many populations exhibit severe damage from cattle grazing. Urbanization and associated road widening and road maintenance are also threats. No populations are currently in permanent protection.
