Camissoniopsis bistorta is an annual herb that is native to California, and found only slightly beyond California borders.
[Wikipedia] Taxonomy: The type specimen was collected by Thomas Nuttall on his 1836 voyage to San Diego. The name bistorta means "twice-twisted," referring to the fact that the fruit does a double turn.[3] Phylogenetic analysis place this species in a clade with Camissoniopsis hirtella and Camissoniopsis cheiranthifolia.[5] It hybridizes with C. cheiranthifolia subsp. suffruticosa.
