Habitat and range
It is found in the Alpine and Tuolumne Counties, south of Lake Tahoe, in the Sierra Nevada range of California.[3] It is generally found in rocky volcanic soil or scree.[4]
Description
Cryptantha crymophila has many stems with prickly leaves.[4] It grows to a height of 5 to 16 inches (13 to 40 cm).[4] The nutlets have winged margins.[2] (link added by Mary Ann Machi)
