Kyhosia bolanderi is a perennial herb that is native to California, and also found in Oregon.
[Wikipedia] Taxonomy: Kyhosia is a monotypic genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae containing the single species Kyhosia bolanderi, which is known by the common names Bolander's madia and kyhosia.
This plant was included in genus Madia until 1999, when it was separated and a new genus was created for it. The new genus is named for UC Davis botanist Donald Kyhos. (link added by Mary Ann Machi)
